Considering this market situation, there is a possibility that domestic and global specifications will be equipped with nickel-cobalt-manganium (NCM) lithium-ion batteries, and a price increase will be inevitable when equipped with nickel-cobalt-manganium batteries.
The domestic launch has already been confirmed. At the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show, Kia President Song Ho-sung said, “We will launch EV5 in the domestic market.” However, it seems difficult to determine the exact release time. Kia will officially launch the EV5 to the Chinese market on November 17, and will launch it in Korea after the Chinese reaction, and it is predicted to be the first half of next year at the earliest.
